Family recovery and roles of resilience in Nigeria’s recessed economy

By

Abstract

State formations all over the world have their development dependent on the creativities, ingenuity and resources produced by individuals who are products of families. This implies that the absence of families should mean the non-existence of states. On the contrary, the designs of modern states have helplessly created a mentality of dependence of families, such that families tend to be increasingly unproductive. This negates the traditional production background of Nigeria, where families instead finance the bigger structure with their proceeds. It is in lieu of the foregoing that this paper seeks to put forward a reminder of economic interest that should stimulate families to think inward in times of economic recession and further strengthen their resilience. Incumbent on this will diversification of the economy become quicker than expected.
Given this advocacy, the paper recognizes external influences that could also encourage resilience for families while spotting out forms of resilience likely to be destructive to families and the society at large. The logotherapy will provide theoretical orientation, while literature based research methodology will be adopted.
