Law, Morality and Religion: A metaphysical relationship in complimentary development of Mankind

Abstract

The concepts of law, morality and religion play complementaryroles in regulating human conducts in society. Without them, no society can withstand the test of time. Hence, they act asinstitutional control regulating human conduct. Interestingly, theyenjoy a metaphysical relationship necessary for the total development of mankind and society at large. While morality is thebasis of law and religion, law and religion are the manifestations of the development of morality in different societies. The paper examines the meaning of these concepts and exposes themetaphysical and complementary relationship which exists betweenthem.
