Religion and Human values; A critical analysis of humanism

Abstract

It is truism in human life that man lives in an odd world in which he strives to livea religious life, but human value play a very contrary role to the quest for rereligiosity. Consequently it becomes almost impossible to attain perfection inreligion vis-a-vis man diverse interest in human value. This paper is focused at themodern era of humanism or philosophical anthropocentrism whereby mangives primacy to human value denying God his existence. This is exemplified inmans quest for materialistic and political pursuit in our contemporary !igerian"ociety.
