The Trade/Entrepreneurship Curriculum for Nigeria Senior Secondary Schools

Abstract

This paper discusses the new trade/entrepreneurship curriculum that form a central part of the new senior secondary school curriculum in Nigeria. It locates the curriculum within the context of the nation's aspiration for a functional and globally competitive education, such that imparts skills and competences necessary for job generation, wealth creation, and poverty eradication. Also, the role of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) in developing the curriculum and stimulating its effective implementation is highlighted.
