A predictive model for determining the quantity of lime required for water treatment was developed by considering the inter-relationship between water quality parameter such aspH and the quantity of lime required for water treatment. The model constants were obtained using least square regression method and solving the resultant equation using MATLAB program. Comparison of the results
from the simulation of the model and experimental data showed a good prediction with a correlation coefficient of 89%.
A model based on data mining approach for the estimation of water treatment cost is presented. The model was developed using multivariable regression method based on the industrial data collected from Kaduna North water treatment plant for a period of one year. Comparison of the result from the simulation of the model and observed data shows a good prediction with a correlation coefficient of 0.9921
The objective of this study is to identify the perception of Social Studies Teachers as it affects the achievement of National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy
This study was undertaken to investigate the impact of school community relationship in the
effective management of the FCT Senior Secondary Schools. Specifically, the study sought to
identify the community organizations that related with the schools; the areas of community
participation; the strategies adopted by principals of the schools to enhance positive school
community relationship; Compare principals' strategies for mobilizing community participation
in public and private schools; identify factors militating against effective school-community
relationship in FCT schools; and establish whether strategies adopted by principals to mobilize
community participation differ according to their gender or experience. 28 principals of Public
Senior Secondary Schools and 54 principals of Government approved Private Senior Secondary
Schools in the FCT took part in the study. A 34-item questionnaire -'School-community
Relationship Index (S-CRI) was used to elicit responses from the respondents. The data collected
were analysed using mean scores and t-test. The mean scores were used to answer the research
questions while the t-test was used to test the hypotheses. It was found that FCT senior
secondary schools maintained cordial relationships with some examination bodies especially
with W AEC and NECO; Poor communication and distrust of principals by the community
ranked highest amongst factors militating against effective school community relationship. The
study recommended that Principals in the FCT senior secondary schools should sustain their
cordial relationships with W AEC and NECO and that the extent of school community
communication should be broadened to remove distrust. The study concluded that there were still
some crucial areas of school management that the community agencies are not effectively
involved in which needed to be enhanced.
The study investigated principals' supervisory role performance, motivational strategies and students academic performance in senior secondary schools, Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Nigeria.
This study examined the relationship between teacher Job satisfaction classroom effectiveness
and secondary students academic performance in Orlu zone Imo State .A survey research design
was adopted for the study. A total of 250 teachers and 500 students formed the sample of the
study. The samples were selected using stratified sampling technique from the 25 senior
secondary schools spread across the 5 local government areas in orluzone. The instrument for
data collection was two questionnaires: Teachers level of job satisfaction questionnaire (TLSQ).
and Students rating of their teachers classroom effectiveness questionnaire (SRETPQ). Each of
the questionnaires contained 16 items with response scale based on a four-point scale modified
liker type. The instrument was first validated by experts in educational administration and
planning. The TL.TSQ and SRETPQ returned reliability coefficient of0.78 and 0.71 respectively.
Three statistical techniques were employed for data analysis. The mean score and the standard
deviation were used to answer the research questions, while pearson product moment correlation
was used in testing the hypothesis. The study found a positive relationship between teacher job
satisfaction, classroom effectiveness and students' academic performance in Orlu zone.
Furthermore, the study revealed that although teachers are, satisfied with their job however they
are dissatisfied with some aspects of their jobs in terms of salary and allowance, promotion and
training opportunities am educational resources available for their work.
